Every CTE class at this school uses the same rubric. Learn it once, and it works everywhere.
CRED isn’t about being nice. It’s about being someone people can count on.
Everything you turn in gets graded on how good it is. CRED asks a different question: were you someone people could work with while you made it? When thirty people depend on each other to finish one book, that matters a lot.
It’s how the whole class runs.
CRED uses a 40-point scale that turns into the 20 points of your course grade. You start with all 40. The list below shows how to keep them.
Two things unlock it. First, the signed form, which confirms you and a parent or guardian read the syllabus and this rubric. Second, both Real tests, taken in class on Wayground, passed at 90%. Until both are done, these 20 points can’t be entered at all.
It’s the easiest 20% of your grade, and the easiest to forget.

Every line is something you choose to do.
None of these are surprises. They’re on this page in September. Reporting early costs nothing extra: an accident you report the same day costs −5 or more, and a need you tell us about a week ahead costs nothing.
Not reporting is what costs the most.

| −3 to −10 | Not doing what you're responsible for. Letting your teammates down. Wearing headphones during a lesson, not paying attention, doing other schoolwork, or being off task. CRED can’t go below zero. The worst possible month costs you the 20 points and nothing more. It doesn’t affect your pages, it doesn’t carry into next month, and it never becomes a hole you can’t climb out of.
I set it up that way on purpose. A student with nothing left to lose has no reason to try.
I’d rather you always have a reason.
CRED covers letting a person down. Example: you said you’d shoot the game, and your partner ended up standing there alone with the camera bag.
Role covers missing your weekly tasks. Example: you owed three posts and only posted one.
Those are different problems, graded in different places. You never lose points twice for the same thing. If it ever looks like you did, come tell me.
You grade yourself before I grade you. It’s short and honest, and not turning it in costs more than anything else on this page.
It costs more than most mistakes because it only takes five minutes, and nobody else can do it for you. Late is −6. Missing is −20. It’s in the Keep (dk.darien.games, on the CRED tab). It opens a week early and is due the first Friday of the next month.
