CRED is not about being nice. It is about being someone a room can rely on.
Every deliverable in this class gets judged on whether it was good. CRED is the other question: were you someone people could work with while you made it. On a project where thirty people depend on each other and one book has to ship, that is not a soft skill. It is the whole operating system.
It runs on a 40 point scale that maps to the 20 points of your course grade. You start with all of it. The list below is how you keep it.
Two things unlock it. The signed acknowledgment, and SYLLABUSCEPTION, the quiz on the syllabus, this rubric and Camera School. It comes in two parts: the General quiz everyone takes, and the one for your department. Open book, unlimited retakes, 100% to pass on each. Until the form and both quizzes are done these 20 points cannot be entered at all, so the fastest 20% of your grade is also the first 20% you can lose track of.

Notice what is not on that list: talent, being outgoing, or agreeing with me. Every single line is something you decide to do.

CRED cannot go below zero. The worst possible month costs you the whole 20 points and nothing more. It does not bleed into your pages, it does not follow you into the next month, and it does not become a hole you can never climb out of.
That is deliberate. A student with nothing left to lose has no reason left to behave, and I would rather you always have a reason.
CRED covers flaking on a person. You said you would shoot the game and your partner stood there alone with a camera bag.
Role covers missing your beat sheet. You owed three posts and shipped one.
Different failures, different buckets. You never pay twice for the same thing, and if it ever looks like you did, come tell me.
You assess yourself before I do. It is short, it is honest, and not submitting it is the single most expensive thing on this page.
It costs more than most infractions because it is the one thing that takes five minutes and cannot be done for you by anybody else. Late is −5. Missing is −20.

The second half of the same requirement. Two quizzes, General plus your department's, open book, retake each until every answer is right. CRED cannot be entered until the form is in and both quizzes are clean.
