Instructions
Until you pass both, your CRED stays locked. That’s 20% of your grade sitting empty.
- Read the study guide. It has every answer and says where on this site it lives.
- Take the practice General test on Wayground. It shows you the answer after every question. Take it until you’re bored of it.
- Take the practice test for your department: Content, Outreach + Photo, or Design. Photographers take Outreach + Photo.
- Design: read the Design Bible. Your test is 40 questions because ten of them are the Design Bible.
- In class, Sensei puts the join code on the board. Take the real General test. You need 90%.
- Then the real test for your department. 90% again.
- Check your work: both passed, and the form signed? Your CRED unlocks. Pass on the first try and you earn 250 DK.
- Didn’t pass? Study what you missed and retake it. Unlimited retakes. Worth 0 points, so nothing to lose.
What it should look like
Done looks like two scores and one signature.
- General, real, in class, 90% or higher. Everyone takes this one.
- Your department’s test, real, in class, 90% or higher. One of three. Design’s is 40 because it covers the Design Bible.
- Plus the signed form. All three, and your CRED can be entered. Until then it just sits there, no matter how good your pages are.

- ContentContent test · 30 questions · the three posts, the name rule, approval, the break slate, safe zone

Practice is practice. Study from it. It’s not the real one.
The only version that counts. First-try pass = 250 DK.
Lesson
Why there’s a test at all
So nobody comes to Sensei in March acting surprised. Everything on the test is a thing that will cost you a page, a photo, or a grade if you don’t know it. The test is the cheapest place to find out what you don’t know.
How to study it in one period
- Take the practice test once without studying. Write down every question you got wrong.
- Open the study guide. Each answer has a link to where it lives on this site. Read those pages, not the whole site.
- Take the practice test again. New wrong list. Shorter.
- Repeat until the wrong list is empty twice in a row. Then you’re ready.
What counts as a signature? Two replies that say SIGNED. A reaction is not a signature.
What does the checkpoint count? V2 only. Forty V1s on checkpoint Thursday is zero pages.
First name, last initial: social only. The book prints full names.
Example
A General question, the way it looks on the real test.
Your V1 is posted. Who decides who proofs it? A. You pick a friend B. Your chair C. Sensei D. Whoever replies first in #yb-proofs
The chair assigns the proofer when the V1 goes up, and reassigns it if the proof is late. It’s on Proof a Spread, and it’s the kind of thing that costs a spread if you get it wrong in November.
How to turn it in
There’s nothing to upload. Sensei puts the join code on the board. Pass both and your scores are recorded.
- Practice at home or in class, as many times as you want.
- Real General test: in class, join code on the board.
- Real department test: in class, join code on the board.
- Both at 90%? Done. Sign the form if you haven’t.
