To be a chair: Year 2, and in the clubReps don’t need to be Year 2, so being a rep is a good way to start. Both need good club attendance, and both get the press badge.

03Class vs. club

To be a leader, you need both

Class vs. Club

The class, and CENTAURUS

The class is where you earn credit and make the book.

CENTAURUS is the club. Wednesdays at brunch in the Tech Center, and after school. Members do 1.5 to 2 hours a week of yearbook work outside class and report it at the meeting.

Club members get a permanent press badge: school events and games, first pick of equipment, a real say in the book. Not in the class? Join as an advisor. No badge, no vote.

Year 1 vs. Year 2

How you get a chair

Three requirements, no opinions: be a Year 2, be in the club, keep your attendance up. Nobody gets picked because Sensei likes them.

Year 1 students are staff and learn the job. Year 2 students can be chairs: more responsibility, more say. Not more pages.A bigger job.

Each department has two reps, each paired with one person in ASB. You don’t have to be a Year 2 to be a rep.
